Men arrested for trademark infringement for selling wood as Toshiba laptops

Two men from Jackson, Mississippi have been arrested for trademark infringement for selling blocks of wood as laptops. Eddie Handford, 45, and Frank Hamilton, 54, attempted to sell wood covered in duct tape and bubble wrap as a Toshiba label laptop.Toshiba v.Wood

The men are also being charged with illegal sale of goods bearing counterfeit labels. They face up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, each. According to officials, the men were also in the business of selling fake gold chains, a camcorder, an iPod, and porn. Luckily, authorities say that nobody has purchased the fraudulent laptops.
