VIACOM files trademark for RETIRED AT 35

VIACOM International has filed for the trademark rights for the mark RETIRED AT 35 which in all probability relates to the sitcom starring esteemed comedy and drama actor George Segal of the same name.

The sitcom is a TV Land PRIME original production and is the network’s second venture into scripted comedy series along with “Hot in Cleveland,” which premieres on June 16, 2010.

The trademark application for the mark was filed for the description ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES IN THE NATURE OF CONTINUING PROGRAM SERIES, FEATURING LIVE ACTION, COMEDY AND DRAMA PROVIDED THROUGH CABLE TELEVISION, BROADCAST TELEVISION, INTERNET, VIDEO-ON-DEMAND, AND THROUGH OTHER DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS; PROVIDING ONLINE INFORMATION IN THE FIELD OF ENTERTAINMENT CONCERNING TELEVISION PROGRAMS;  and the application was assigned the serial number 85059228.

In the pilot episode of “Retired at 35”, David (McClain), a successful young businessman decides to leave the rat race of New York City behind and move into his parents’ (Segal and Walter) Florida retirement home to reconnect with them, re-evaluate his life and live the dream of retirement that so many are working toward.
