Nivea Lip Care, the world’s largest skin care brand best known with the tag “Kiss and Be Kissed” may have to stop using the name Nivea Lip Care as they have failed to file the form that is relevant to Section 8 between the 5th & 6th year after registration; failure to do so results in cancellation.
The German company BEIERSDORF AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT that owns Nivea has around 203 trademark applications in its name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, among which is the Nivea Lip Care trademark application filed in the year 2002 and registered in the year 2003.
The trademark Application for “Nivea Lip Care” (image as shown above), was filed with the description, “PREPARATIONS FOR BODY AND BEAUTY CARE, NAMELY NON-MEDICATED LIP BALM AND NON-MEDICATED SUN SCREEN PROTECTION PREPARATIONS FOR LIP CARE.” and was assigned the registration number 2777677.
Do we see a new name for Nivea lip balms this year? What happened to making “…2010 a Year of Love, Hugs and Kisses”?
