The USPTO seems to be gearing itself for becoming a hub for all inventors and small time business owners with IP worries. Apart from rolling out the Inventors EYE – newsletter, and the Pilot Program to accelerate the patent process for small entity inventors, otherwise termed as the Backlog reduction plan; the USPTO has now set-up the Trademark Information Network.
First off on the Trademark Information Network is the video Newsflash: Before You File. These video launches come in the wake of Trademarkia launching its how-t0-trademark videos quite early in which one is shown how to conduct a free search from Trademarkia’s database which happens to be more current than the USPTO’s!
Also unavailable on the USPTO search database is the easy visual option to search by Logos present on Trademarkia. You could always go in for a USPTO search which is free again, although the ease of use may not be inherent always.
